Dr. Rene Buenzow, DNP, PMHNP-BC, APRN-BC, is a dually board-certified nurse practitioner in family practice and psychiatric mental health. Having earned her doctorate in health care policy from the University of Iowa in 2023, she adopts a client-centered, evidence-based approach, integrating her broad experience into her mental health practice. Dr. Buenzow supports clients of all ages in achieving realistic goals within their mental health journeys. She is experienced in addressing a wide range of conditions including ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, mood and personality disorders, PTSD, and trauma-related issues. Dr. Buenzow conducts comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic interviews, provides medication management, and offers ongoing care. Her extensive clinical background spans diverse settings such as acute, long-term, urgent, and primary care, and includes chronic disease management, crisis stabilization, and outpatient services. Dedicated to equitable care, she has worked with marginalized populations. Board-certified by the ANCC, Dr. Buenzow is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Wisconsin Nurses Association, where she serves on the Board of Directors. She is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), reflecting her commitment to high-quality health care for all.
