Coping Skills Activities for Adults
In our coping skills activities for adults group, adults will learn different ways to practice mindfulness and develop interpersonal skills. Participants thus learn about managing personal distress and coping with emotions more effectively.
Do you struggle with identifying, naming and/or knowing how to cope with your emotions? Have you become distressed or felt emotionally out of control and/or struggled with being able to communicate with significant people in your life? If any of this sounds familiar, you may be interested in participating in the once-a-week coping skills activities for adults group therapy for adults 18 and older.
This adult coping skills group is based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.
Virtual Meetings
Wednesdays from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm for 24 weeks. We accept referrals at any
time and will determine an exact start date once we have a sufficient number of participants. In some cases, insurance can be billed for services.
Expectations
Participants are expected to:
- Attend coping skills activities for adults group consistently and participate in group discussion.
- Be able to join via telehealth in a private, confidential setting.
- Complete readings and coping with emotions exercises outside of class each week.
- Practice using skills and exercises outside of class each week.
- Follow group rules.
- The binder with all of the handouts for the group will be provided at no additional cost to group participants.
- The information will be presented with an educational format.
Referral Process
If you are already a client at the Pauquette Center, speak to your therapist about the coping skills activities for adults group and about being referred.
If you are not a current Pauquette Center client, please complete the referral form below. We will reach out to schedule a short screening to provide background information and determine if the group would be a good fit.
