MARRIAGE AND RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS

HOW TO KNOW WHEN TO RECIEVE HELP
Although conflict in relationships can be normal, it can also become excessive, toxic, or abusive. How do you know when it’s crossed that line? Healthy relationships involve conflict that expresses emotion but remains respectful, where both partners feel comfortable expressing their complaints without worry of retribution, insults, or abusive behavior. Healthy relationships also include intentions to resolve a problem, not add to the problem by making the other person feel badly about themselves or worry for their safety. If you notice your relationship or marriage involves constant unhealthy conflict or has become verbally or psychically abusive it’s time to seek help.
TREATMENT
Pauquette center provides psychotherapy services to help with your relationship or marriage. One can engage in individual psychotherapy when working on relationship issues, as well as couples therapy. Psychotherapy would address relationship issues, offer options for communication including conflict resolution and empathy, and one being able to identify their feelings and needs. We would work with you to determine if you would benefit more from couple’s therapy or individual therapy.
