Specialty Services

I have specialized in the field of addiction, serving a diverse population, for over twenty years, working diligently to address the underlying issues such as: stress, depression, anxiety, trauma and feelings of being overwhelmed.

Overcoming my own struggles combined with my life experience has been my best teacher and motivated me, at a late age, to return to school to earn a Masters in Counseling Psychology.

My primary strategy is helping the clients to get out of the problem and into the solution. As a counselor, I utilize CBT and DBT as a way of becoming more mindful of one’s thoughts, emotions and behaviors by keeping thought logs; learning and practicing skills of mindfulness emotional regulation and Distress Tolerance, all of which are helpful in reducing anxiety and stress and overall coping with life.

I also have worked several years with adolescents experiencing substance use disorders; men experiencing relationship and personal issues; and both men and women with various issues and dilemmas.
